Scuba Gods: Learn To Dive The Right Way: Never participate in an introductory scuba lesson conducted from a boat. It’s a nightmare for both student and instructor, unless perfect pool-like ocean conditions exist, which very rarely happens in Hawaii. Even then, when learning to use the equipment, you cannot touch the bottom, which can be up to 40 ft. below you. This complicates the teaching process for the instructor, and does nothing to instill confidence in the student. The only proper way to introduce someone to scuba is in waist deep water, followed by a shallow shore dive.

Also, unlike some dive companies, we use full size, 80 cubic ft. tanks for your lesson, not the smaller 63’s, which give you less time underwater.

Scuba Gods: Full Disclosure: Scuba diving isn’t for everyone, and a small minority of people do fail the course. While previous scuba experience is not required, it helps if you have used a snorkel before without complication, or at the very least, are comfortable in the water. (Please note: If you fail the course, you do not get a refund)

Did You Know?: Over the past 14 years, Scuba Gods has conducted over 500 “Discover Scuba Diving” courses. Also, statistically, scuba diving is safer than bowling. More people get injured per year in a bowling alley than they do scuba diving.
