Maui Scuba Gods
Jay and Cerrina family

“We were all open water certified as a family, and Scuba Gods made it such a memorable experience for us. Jay is an awesome diver, teacher and guide! We would highly recommend Scuba Gods to anyone interested in learning how to dive while on Maui”.....The Cerrina family, California.

The PADI “Open Water Diver” certification course is the most popular scuba program in the world, and the internationally recognized certification that you earn, never expires. Small class size (4 students max) guarantees you a first class experience, both above and below the surface, you will never forget. (Minimum age is 10 years old)

Open Water Diver Certification: Fast Facts

Note: Participation in the PADI “Open Water Diver” certification course, requires a “no” answer to every question on a basic medical form. Answering “yes” to any question, requires a physician’s release to scuba dive. Click Here (PDF file) to see if you qualify.

Note: All certification students must allow up to 18 hours between diving and flying, or booking any other altitude related activities during your stay on Maui, including helicopter tours, Haleakala National Park, and the road to Hana.

Note: Scuba diving isn’t for everyone, and you can’t get a refund should you fail the course. While previous scuba experience is not required, it helps if you have used a snorkel before and are comfortable in the water.

Did you know?: Statistically, scuba diving is safer than bowling.

Did you know?: Scuba Gods has conducted over 700 certification courses.

The quality of our “Open Water Diver” certification course has been acknowledged by PADI headquarters. Click Here (PDF format) and Click Here (PDF format) for the PADI letters, and endorsements from 2 former certification students.

Are you using full sized scuba tanks?

FYI: Some dive operations on Maui use smaller 50 and 63 cubic ft. scuba tanks for open ocean certification dives. Unfortunately, smaller tanks hold less air, which translates into shorter underwater dive time for you. The Scuba Gods way: We use full sized, 80 cubit ft. scuba tanks, for all open ocean certification dives.
