“Diving with Scuba Gods was a blast!”.....Greg, Pennsylvania

The PADI “Discover Scuba Diving” experience, also known as a “Resort Course”, is a safe, easy, and fun introduction to scuba diving. Learn the basic skills necessary to blow some bubbles, then experience the sensation of weightlessness as you explore Maui’s most famous reefs. Small class size (4 students max) guarantees you a first class experience, both above and below the surface, you will never forget. (Minimum age is 10 years old)

Discover Scuba Diving / Resort Course: Fast Facts

Note: Participation in the “Discover Scuba Diving” experience requires a “no” answer to every question on a basic medical form. Answering “yes” to any question, requires a physician’s release to scuba dive. Click Here (PDF file) to see if you qualify.

Note: All “Discover Scuba Diving” participants must allow up to 18 hours between diving and flying, or booking any other altitude related activities during your stay on Maui, including helicopter tours, Haleakala National Park, and the road to Hana.

Note: Scuba diving isn’t for everyone, and you can’t get a refund should you fail the course. While previous scuba experience is not required, it helps if you have used a snorkel before and are comfortable in the water.

Did you know?: Statistically, scuba diving is safer than bowling.

Is your resort course conducted from a boat?

FYI: Some dive operations on Maui conduct the resort course from a boat, where open ocean weather conditions can create a teaching scenario that is a nightmare for both student and instructor. The only way to properly introduce someone to scuba is in waist deep water, standing on a sand bottom. The Scuba Gods way: Our resort course is conducted from shore.

Is your instructor double booked?

FYI: Some dive operations on Maui double book their instructors with both morning and afternoon resort course dives, requiring all dives to start and end at a precise, predetermined time. Unfortunately, this translates into shorter underwater fun time for you. The Scuba Gods way: Our instructors are never double booked.

Are you using full sized scuba tanks?

FYI: Some dive operations on Maui use smaller 50 and 63 cubic ft. scuba tanks for resort course dives. Unfortunately, smaller tanks hold less air, which translates into shorter underwater fun time for you. The Scuba Gods way: We use full sized, 80 cubit ft. scuba tanks, for our resort course dives.
